Standardized Training for Our Clients and Officers

RMPS Training Academy provides all our training needs. RMPS Training Academy is a Law Enforcement, Security, and Firearms based training school headquartered in Colorado. We offer all aspects of training for your needs from Home Protection to Occupational Licenses such as armed security guard training courses. For those not in the Law Enforcement or Security Industry we also offer NRA Basic Pistol, Self Defense, and Concealed Handgun courses.

For those who serve in a public safety position, we offer you and your fellow officers courses including but not limited: Security Guard Training, Executive Protection and Dignitary Protection, Expandable baton, OC/ Pepper Spray, Defensive Tactics, Active Shooter Response, Intermediate and Advanced Pistol, Shotgun, and Rifle, S.W.A.T. certified courses and many more.

Our Instructors have an extensive background in Law Enforcement, Military, Security, and Executive Protection Industry. We offer training that is meant to save lives and help keep you and your loved ones safe from predators. We strive to provide all of our service men and women with real life application training to keep them in the fight.

Officer Training

All company training is conducted by certified law enforcement personnel that are recognized by the city of Colorado Springs.

All officers who carry a Taser and OC will be certified in the proper use of their assigned equipment.

*Basic Firearms Class is a prerequisite.

Basic Firearms Class

This 24-hour course teaches basic safety and firearm knowledge as well as range safety. This class also teaches and emphasizes the importance of weapons maintenance.

Tactical Firearms Training

This 24-hour course covers all “shoot” and “don’t shoot” situations as well as practical shooting situations and a qualification round. This is a pass or fail course. No officer is allowed to carry a firearm until they have completed this course.

Firearms Recertification

This 24-hour course on firearm safety and recertification is a part of continued education covered throughout the year.

*Basic Security Guard Training is a prerequisite.

Basic Security Guard Training

This 24-hour course covers basic security practices such as use of force, proper observation, and patrol techniques. Officers are also taught how to be a good witness and what to look for in case of an incident.

Armed and Unarmed Building Searches

This 48-hour course is a part of continued training throughout the year. This course teaches officers the proper ways to conduct a building search.

ASP Tactical Baton

This is an 8-hour course consisting of proper use of the ASP expandable baton and defensive tactics. This is a pass or fail course.

Emergency Vehicle Operation Course

All patrol officers will be certified in EVOC.

Supervisor Training

This is a course concentrated on the proper way to handle employees and confrontational situations. We enroll all supervisors in this and other continuing educational classes.
